YOUTH EVENT - "TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE"
Bethel Youth out did themselves again! Volunteering for the Northwoods Mission to Petrozavodsk and the building of a Christian Bible Camp an energetic group of 25 plus youth raked yards in the Bemidji area on the afternoon of May 3, 2009. The event was inspired by the Fall Senior Community Clean-up event sponsored by Northwoods Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers. Since that organization has not traditionally helped Seniors in need of yard raking in Spring – the Youth of Bethel helped the local community and the Mission at the same time. Raking 8 yards in a single afternoon the group raised $500.00. The funds have been given to the Northwoods Mission along with a card signed by all the participants and a photo of the hard working crew. A huge Thank You to: the youth; the adults providing transportation, the evening Campfire and Hot Dog lunch; and the generous giving by congregation members. |
